Complex Commercial Litigation and White-Collar Criminal Defense
Matt has experience handling a broad range of criminal and civil litigation in state and federal court. He was recently involved in a successful defense verdict in a wrongful-death automobile accident case. Matt has experience defending civil RICO actions involving allegations of mail fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering. He has also worked on commercial litigation containing complex issues of tribal sovereign immunity as well as allegations of securities law violations. Matt joined Lewis Tein, PL in May 2008 as a clerk and began as an attorney in 2010.
Matt received his law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in 2010. While in law school, he served as an Articles and Comments Editor on the University of Miami Law Review. Matt received the Best Casenote Award in the University of Miami Law Review Write-on Competition and the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement in American Indian Law. In his final year, Matt founded the Irish-American Law Students Association for charitable and networking purposes.
Matt also received his MBA at the University of Miami School of Business in 2010. He received the Award of Academic Merit and was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. Matt received a Bachelor of Business Administration, cum laude, from the Honors Program at the University of Miami School of Business where he majored in both Finance and Economics.
